The Telangana Chapter of the BFSI Consortium is at the forefront of driving growth and innovation in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector in Telangana. As a key player in India's BFSI landscape, Hyderabad boasts a thriving ecosystem with numerous Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and a workforce of over 4 lakh professionals. Our chapter's initiatives, strategic collaborations, and focus on skill development are designed to strengthen this ecosystem and position Hyderabad as a hub for BFSI excellence.
Key Statistics:
Workforce and Employment: Hyderabad is home to over 4 lakh professionals in the BFSI sector.
Projected Growth: The BFSI sector in India is expected to grow at an annual rate of 8.2% until 2026.
Global Capability Centres (GCCs): Hyderabad hosts major GCCs, including Barclays, Berkadia, Franklin Templeton, HSBC, JP Morgan & Chase, and Wells Fargo, mostly in what has been designated the ‘Financial District’ of Hyderabad. India is projected to house 2,400 GCCs by 2030, with many located in Hyderabad.
Skill Development Needs: The current workforce deficit in the BFSI sector is 1.5 million skilled professionals, projected to grow to 3 million by 2030.
Educational Initiatives: The BFSI Consortium, in collaboration with the Government of Telangana and the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), introduces industry-specific knowledge into undergraduate programs to equip students with relevant skills.

Skill Development Programs:
Our chapter has launched targeted training programs to bridge the skill gap. More than 5 lakh students in Telangana require training to meet the industry demands. These programs focus on providing domain-specific knowledge, technical skills, and behavioural training curated by industry leaders.
Internship Opportunities:
Through the Experiential Learning Program (ELP), students in Hyderabad have access to hands-on internships with leading BFSI companies. This immersive approach allows students to gain real-world experience and complement their academic learning with practical skills.

The Telangana Chapter has developed a comprehensive curriculum divided into three aspects: domain-specific knowledge, technical training, and behavioral skills.
